Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2019 City-Wide Employee Sock Drive! With your helpful giving, we collected 1,225 pairs of socks plus many other essential items for our most vulnerable neighbors living outside. Once again, this set a new record for City employee donations, as last year’s total was 1,013. Additional donations included 108 pairs of socks from Sock it to Me, 78 scarves, 76 pairs of knit mittens and gloves, 73 adult hats, 13 blankets, and 11 jackets. All goods were delivered by my staff to JOIN: connecting the street to a home, Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare, Transition Projects, Inc., Janus Youth Programs, and Because People Matter - BridgeTown Inc.
Thanks to everyone for your outstanding charitable contributions and participation, and especially to Yesenia Carrillo on my staff who coordinated the project. We also appreciate the assistance of staff in many bureaus who put out boxes, sent us donations via inter-office mail, and/or made deliveries. Well done, team!
