Yesterday, we had a post from Commissioner Leonard, and learned that he LOVES Caesar Salad, especially his own recipe!

So while we're getting to know people of the Portland Water Bureau, I thought we'd learn a little bit about our Chief Engineer, Mike Stuhr. I asked him to answer 20 very "hard-hitting" questions for your entertainment.

One more: "greatest water engineering feat in the history of civilized humankind?"

I like history.
Water System for Machu Pichu, Peru.
Assyrian and Roman aquaducts.
Water System for Ephesus.
John Snow used chorine to disinfect water following the cholera epidemic of 1854.  Read "The Ghost Map" if you want to read a good detective story.  Thus began water disinfection which has probably done more good than all the more spectacular dams, reservoirs etc.
