Bensons Bubble Again - Printable Version - January 22, 2007 - 0 Comments

Barbara Gaston turns on a Benson Bubbler at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Now that the cold spell has eased up, the Portland Water Bureau will turn on all of the drinking fountains we turned off earlier to prevent water freezing on city sidewalks .

Starting this morning three Portland Water Bureau people will be working on getting all 130 of the  Benson Bubblers and drinking fountains back in service. It may take all day to get them on. Some will require readjusting the flow and timers when they go back on.

We will leave a few fountains off on SW Fifth and SW Sixth Avenue due to Light Rail Construction.

Forest to faucet, the best drinking water in the world -- and by this afternoon, it will be available at Portland's drinking fountains.

Thank you for your patience.

Bill Georgeades
Public Works Supervisor
