The Portland Water Bureau, in cooperation with the U. S. Forest Service, offers a limited number of tours annually in the Bull Run Watershed. All tours are planned and guided by a professional Water Resources Educator. During the tour participants learn about Portland's primary drinking water supply.

 

 

Summer 2010 tour dates: July 16, July 31, August 13, August 21 and September 10.

Some things to know about public tours to the Bull Run Watershed:

  • Tours are typically offered between July and October.
  • Tours last 8 hours and are most often scheduled on a Friday or Saturday.
  • A fee of $10 will be charged to each participant. The fee contributes to the transportation cost for the tour.
  • Participants must bring their own lunch.
  • Smoking is not allowed on tours.
  • ADA-compliant restrooms are available, and ADA compliant transportation can be made available upon request.
  • In the interest of water system security, all tour participants will be asked to provide identification information.
