Two U. S. companies are now bottling nicotine water as an alternative to smoking.

Test marketing suggests people buy them in airports, restaurants and bars that are now smoke-free. In trial sales of the 8-ounce bottles flavored with nicotine molecules and lemon, consumers bought nearly 300,000 bottles.

The president of one of the companies says there have been no allergic reactions to the new product.
