This calculator will provide an estimate of expected Street Maintenance and Safety Fees for City of Portland businesses.

How to calculate your fee

For a single-family property (detached or row house), your fee is $4.54 per month.

For a multi-family property, your fee is billed to whomever pays the water bill – in most cases, the landlord – at the rate of $3.07 per month per dwelling unit plus $0.25 base fee. If you live in a multi-family dwelling (apartment building or condominium) and pay your own water bill, you will be billed directly for your street fee at the rate of $3.32 per month.

For all other property types, you will need to supply two pieces of information. First you will need to supply your Property Use. Then, depending on the use, you will need to supply one more piece of information, given in the table below:

Type of use Information needed
Park, arena, outdoor recreation site, golf course Size of your lot in square feet or acres
Gas station Number of fuel pumps or fueling stations
All other non-residential uses Building square footage (developed usable space)

Please select your property type. The property criteria will display according to your property type selection. Enter the information and click on the Estimate My Fee button to calculate your monthly fee.

Note that this fee is just an estimate. Your actual fee will depend on the actual property use and characteristics on file for your location. In addition, your fee may be reduced by possible low-income/green discounts.

Green discounts - up to 30%, will be available to both the residential and non-residential SMSF rates. Payers will need to apply for the green discounts. A 30% low-income discount is available.

Residential discounts from any one or combination of the following:

  • 10% for having a TriMet monthly or annual pass;
  • 20% for having no cars registered at your residence; or
  • 10% for owning one of the Environmental Protection Agency’s top 10 highest-rated vehicles for Fuel Economy.

Non-residential payers can receive the following discounts:

  • 10% on the first 10,000 trips per month discounted for businesses located within 300 feet of a transit route
  • 10% if the company provides a reimbursement of at least $30/month per employee for transit use, bicycling, carpooling or walking; OR
