| UPCOMING PUBLIC EVENTS
The Bureau of Transportation is beginning outreach for the next generation of bicycle boulevards to hear feedback and get input from the community on crossing treatments and other improvements to maintain the residential character of these routes.
1st Open House - Southeast Bush Bicycle Boulevard: Tuesday, March 16, 2010 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Earl Boyles Elementary (Cafeteria) 10822 SE Bush Street
Project team will present neighbors with the existing conditions on SE Bush Street, areas where pedestrians and cyclists have difficulty crossing busier streets and other possible features on the bicycle boulevard to keep speeds low, reduce cut-through traffic and provide connections to schools, commercial areas and neighborhood parks.
The second open house will be held at Earl Boyles Elementary on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
Southeast-Northeast 86th & 87th Avenues Bicycle Boulevard - 1st Open House:
Thursday, March 18, 2010 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Harrison Park K-8 (Cafeteria) 2225 SE 87th Avenue
Project team will present neighbors with the existing conditions on SE-NE 86th & 87th Avenues, areas where pedestrians and cyclists have difficulty crossing busier streets and other possible features on the bicycle boulevard to keep speeds low, reduce cut-through traffic and provide connections to schools, commercial areas and neighborhood parks.
The second open house will be held at Harrison Park K-8 on Thursday, April 22, 2010.
Southeast 101st Avenue Bicycle Boulevard - 1st Open House:
Tuesday, March 30, 2010 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Lent Elementary (Eagle Room) 5105 SE 97th Avenue
Project team will present neighbors with the existing conditions on SE 101st Avenue, areas where pedestrians and cyclists have difficulty crossing busier streets and other possible features on the bicycle boulevard to keep speeds low, reduce cut-through traffic and provide connections to schools, commercial areas and neighborhood parks.
The second open house will be held at Lent Elementary on Tuesday, April 27, 2010.
North Central Street Bicycle Boulevard - 1st Open House: Thursday, April 1, 2010 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sitton Elementary (Cafeteria) 9930 N Smith Street
Project team will present neighbors with the existing conditions on N Central Street, areas where pedestrians and cyclists have difficulty crossing busier streets and other possible features on the bicycle boulevard to keep speeds low, reduce cut-through traffic and provide connections to schools, commercial areas and neighborhood parks.
The second open house will be held at Sitton Elementary on Thursday, April 29, 2010.
Northeast Holman Street Bicycle Boulevard - 1st Open House:
Tuesday, April 6, 2010 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Concordia University (Luther Hall Room 211) 2811 NE Holman Street
Project team will present neighbors with the existing conditions on NE Holman Street, areas where pedestrians and cyclists have difficulty crossing busier streets and other possible features on the bicycle boulevard to keep speeds low, reduce cut-through traffic and provide connections to schools, commercial areas and neighborhood parks. Northeast Klickitat Street Bicycle Boulevard - 1st Open House:

Project team will present neighbors with the existing conditions on NE Klickitat Street, areas where pedestrians and cyclists have difficulty crossing busier streets and other possible features on the bicycle boulevard to keep speeds low, reduce cut-through traffic and provide connections to schools, commercial areas and neighborhood parks.
The second open house will be held at Alameda Elementary on Thursday, May 6, 2010.
Southwest Illinois & Vermont Street Bicycle Boulevard - 1st Open House: Tuesday, April 13, 2010 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Multnomah Arts Center (Room 28) 7688 Southwest Capitol Highway
Project team will present neighbors with the existing conditions on SW Illinois & Vermont Streets, areas where pedestrians and cyclists have difficulty crossing busier streets and other possible features on the bicycle boulevard to keep speeds low, reduce cut-through traffic and provide connections to schools, commercial areas and neighborhood parks.
The second open house will be held at Multnomah Arts Center on Thursday, May 13, 2010.
