Green Line Preview Ride - Printable Version - July 15, 2009 - 1 Comments

TriMet hosted a free preview ride of the new MAX trains and light rail alignment on 5th and 6th Avenues in downtown.  A few co-workers and I were able to take an hour out of the day to check it out.

If you're interested in taking a free preview ride contact Monica Lackey at TriMet.  They'll be hosting rides periodically until the new Green Line officially opens in September.

Lounging with full window seating. Ohhhh, that new train smell!

What is really cool about the new trains is that the back end of the train car does not have a operator compartment, which is replaced by a bank of windows. It's almost like riding on the Amtrak car with a wall of windows.

You can see what I'm trying to describe in the top photo.
