How do I use a SmartMeter?

It’s as easy as 1-2-3: Park, Pay, Display. After parking your vehicle, you walk to the nearest pay station and insert payment. When you obtain the time you need, you press the green button. The pay station will print out a receipt showing the amount paid, the date, and the expiration time. You stick the larger portion of the receipt inside of your vehicle’s curbside window and then take the smaller portion of the receipt with you.

Instructions on the face of the machine are clearly printed and easy to read.

 How do I use a credit/debit card?

To operate the credit/debit card feature, simply insert your credit/debit card, follow the instructions on the machine.  Press the "Maximum Time" button to purchase the maximum time allowed for that machine, or press the "Add Time" button for parking time in increments of 15 minutes.  Press the green button to complete your transaction. The SmartMeter will print a receipt for you. There is no transaction fee; however, there is a 15-minute minimum purchase with either coin or card transaction.

How do I pay with coins?

To pay with coins, simply insert coins until the display shows the amount of parking time you wish to purchase.  Press the green button to complete your transaction. Then remove the receipt. SmartMeters accept nickels, dimes, quarters, and small dollar coins. There is a 15-minute minimum purchase with either coin or card transaction.

How do I attach the receipt to my curbside window?

The SmartMeter will print you a perforated receipt. You tear off the smaller portion and keep it as a reminder of when your parking time expires. On the back of the larger portion is a sticky label. You peel this off and re-position it so that the sticky side can be attached to the inside of your curbside window. Be sure that the expiration time is facing out. Attach to the inside of the curbside window.
