(Portland, Ore.) - The two eastern lanes of both NE Martin Luther King Boulevard and NE Grand Avenue at NE Couch Street will be closed from Friday at 7:00 a.m. until Saturday evening for repaving. Expect delays.

LANE CLOSURES AND DETOUR - West Burnside eastbound between 11th and 10th avenues

The Bureau of Environmental Services has detoured both lanes of eastbound traffic while working on an emergency sewer repair on West Burnside between 11th and 10th avenues.  Use SW Alder at 19th to avoid delays.  Otherwise, traffic is detoured on SW 11th to Stark around the closure.  The duration of the closure is not known at this time. Expect updates as the situation changes.

 

Motorists and bicyclists are advised to travel slowly and cautiously in the work zone.

CLOSED PERMANENTLY: Overpass of North Vancouver Avenue over the Columbia Slough closed to all motor vehicles

The N. Vancouver Ave. bridge crossing over the Columbia Slough will remain closed to all motor vehicle traffic as a result of a fire that damaged the timber support members on Tuesday evening, October 14. City engineers have evaluated the extent of the damage and have decided not to re-open the bridge.

  

Although closed the motor vehicles, the overpass is open to pedestrians and bicycles.

  

Closure is expected to remain in place until a new bridge can be built. There is no estimated timeline for this project.
