We want to thank everyone who participated in the Banner Challenge. We will be working on implementing the design and plan the release it with the full refresh of PortlandOnline in 2010.

CURRENT TIMELINE (subject to change):  

• Monday, November 23rd (5pm) - Online Voting Ended
• December - Winner announced and prize awarded
• 2010 - New banner launched and winner recognized by the City Council

WHAT HAPPENS WITH YOUR VOTE: 

Judging is by 6 community judges plus the public vote as a 7th judge. Public voting results will be included by the 6 community members on the judging panel in their deliberations. Criteria and guiding questions outlined in the Banner Challenge Rules & Criteria document are the basis for a final decision, namely:

• Do the aesthetics of the banner express the beauty, personality and values of Portland?
• Will it visually appeal to a variety of audiences, including citizens, visitors, and youth?
• Is there overall site branding, as well as capacity for sub-branding for individual bureaus and project?
