Portland is home to many small businesses and creative entrepreneurs, a revitalized downtown and a robust working waterfront. But job growth in Portland is lagging behind the region’s, and businesses face many challenges in a fragile economy. How can we help our businesses – large and small – succeed so that all Portlanders can have access to family-wage jobs? What kinds of actions should we be taking to spur economic development?
