POL Government Bureaus & Offices Portland Housing Bureau

The mission of the Portland Housing Bureau is to make Portland a more livable city for all by bringing low-income people and community resources together

Help shape PHB's budget!

PHB recently launched its budget process for the upcoming fiscal year. Bureau staff is beginning work with stakeholders, conducting programmatic and needs assessments, and developing financial information.

The PHB Budget Advisory Committee (BAC) will conduct public meetings in December and January. The bureau’s requested budget is due to the Office of Management and Finance and the City Council on February 1.

The City Council will hold work sessions on bureau budgets in early March, after which the Mayor will begin formulating the Proposed Budget. The City Council, sitting as the Budget Committee, reviews and may modify that budget, with public hearings occurring in mid-May. Final adoption of the City budget by the full City Council is scheduled for late June.

Follow the PHB budget process and use information resources used by the BAC and bureau staff here on our website. Also follow the progress of our partners at PDC in their budget process. As the PHB transition continues, the two organizations are developing the close working relationship needed between organizations that share funding.
