Portland Parks Board

The Portland Parks Board, established in 2001, serves to ensure that the vision and recommendations of Parks 2020 Vision are at the forefront of discussions about park and recreation issues, and trends over time and in all areas of the city. This Board also advocates for parks on a city and regional basis to ensure that parks, natural areas, open spaces, and recreation facilities are advanced in planning and design. The Parks Board provides a forum for public discussion and decision-making about park issues, bringing a citywide and long-term perspective to neighborhood-based issues.

The Parks Board meets monthly on the first Wednesday of the month. Meetings are open to the public and are generally held in the Lovejoy Room of City Hall, 7:30-9:30 AM. To confirm meeting time, location or agenda, or to contact the Parks Board, please contact Nancy Stites, 503-823-5135.

PORTLAND PARKS FOUNDATION

Established in 2001, on the recommendation of Parks 2020 Vision, the Foundation's goals are twofold: to create a parks expansion fund to ensure that all neighborhoods have access to parks and green spaces, and to provide financial aid to low-income youth in the face of shrinking public funding.
