GreenWalks

Discover Portland's history in its parks and plants. PP&R staff and volunteers lead guided tours of parks, gardens, and natural areas throughout town. Stories of the development of the greenspaces, descriptions of the exotic trees and shrubs planted in the areas, and the natural history of the native plants and animals will be covered. Walks take place on Saturday mornings, 10:00-11:00 AM, spring through fall. These free walks are appropriate for adults and families. No advance registration is necessary. Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden

Volunteers lead tours year round by appointment only. Call 503-244-0537 to make arrangements. 1 week notice requested.


International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park

 

Weekly Tours
From May 31 through September 20, free tours of the rose garden are led by trained volunteers at 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and 1:00 PM on Tuesdays, and 1:00 PM on Saturdays & Sundays. Meet at the sign outside the Rose Garden Store. Donations gladly accepted.

Tour Groups
Guided tours for groups of 10 or more are available during the year for a nominal fee per person. Call 503-823-3664 to make arrangements.


Leach Botanical Garden

Tours of the garden are led every Saturday, February through November. Gardener Scott Hoeslcher leads the first Saturday of the month tour and focuses on seasonal highlights. Meet at 10:00 AM in front of the Manor House; the tour lasts approximately 90 minutes. Admission to the garden is free, but we suggest a $5 donation per person for the tour. Urban Tree Walks
