Historical Information

George H. Pendleton was a congressman from Ohio who, in 1864, ran for vice-president of the United States with McClellan against the ticket of Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson.

In 2001, a sculpture by Keith Jellum, Vincent, Waiting for Alice, was installed in the park. Inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, the piece includes an 8-foot-tall rabbit with a short table with a pair of gloves and a fan on it.
