Reverend Terry Allen Moe is the pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church, a vibrant community church in inner NE Portland. Under Rev. Moe's leadership the congregation has grown in its contribution to the neighborhood and city through service and organizing activities.
He has participated regularly in the SMART reading program at Vernon school along with several other volunteers from Redeemer. Others have volunteered at NE Food, the Red Cross Blood Donation Centers, Dougy Center for grieving children and a variety of services.
Through Metropolitan Alliance for Common Good, an alliance of religious, labor and community based institutions, Rev. Moe and other leaders have advocated for health care initiatives especially vital for children formerly excluded from health benefits.
Also in 2009 Rev. Moe joined other leaders of MACG to work with the city in the Clean Energy Works project which the city of Portland is running to retrofit 500 homes for energy efficiency. Through his leadership at the state legislature and with city leaders strong and fair labor standards for this public works project have been assured. He recently testified at city council on behalf of the Community Workforce Agreement and signed the document of behalf of MACG.
Rev. Moe and the congregation look forward to continued connection to the community through a strong relationship with Vernon Neighborhood Association, a cadre of small and innovative energy and food non-profits as well as ongoing leadership development for public life through MACG. We are grateful to share in making the spirit of Portland strong, just and inclusive
