Central Northeast Neighbors (CNN)
CNN E-Newsletter
Sent to 700 NA board members, elected officials, community partners, public agency staff, media contacts and other interested people in our district.
When: Sent once a month, during the first week of the month. All content submissions are due by the 1st of each month.
How: Submit one paragraph (150 words) containing the essential information and the relevance of this topic to our NA's and interested partners. Please include full contact information for contact person and a web link on how to get more information. Include a picture when possible.

How: Submit event title, date, time, location, target audience (neighborhood, project stakeholders, or open to the community), RSVP if required and a few sentences containing the essential information and the relevance of this topic to CNN NA's and interested partners. East Portland Neighborhood Office (EPNO)
Newspaper
Mailing list of 6,800, goal of mailing to every household in area (57,000) at least once a year, as funding permits.
When: Sent every other month, during the first week of the month. All content submissions are due by the 15th of the prior month.
How: Submit articles prior to deadline. Will be published as relevance and space allows. Photos illustrating the message are encouraged.

Neighborhood notifications
Mailing list varies between 100 and 400 for different NAs. About a quarter to a third of the list is sent by email, the rest by mail.
When: Sent when there is an event or issue.

Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods (NECN)
Michael O'Malley Neighborhoods Resource Library
A central, accessible, local coalition area resource center
Why: One location for current information relevant to inner North and Northeast neighborhoods: jobs, land use, transportation, public meeting notices, urban renewal, public safety, community involvement and projects, block parties, clean-ups, issue binders, NECN and 12 NAs meeting agendas and minutes. Increase access to information for all residents. Decrease paper use and duplicates. Increase community involvement. Increase visitations to Northeast Coalition.

Northeast Coalition's NA Board Members Email Listserv Digest.
Why: To increase the understanding of public involvement opportunities by highlighting timely and relevant efforts and to minimize the number of emails to volunteer NA board members.

North Portland Neighborhood Services (NPNS)

NPNS sends subject specific information to various email distribution groups.
Portland Sentinel
Monthly Peninsula-wide newspaper that publishes community news in their paper and website. St. Johns Review is a b-weekly North Portland newspaper that publishes community news.
Neighbors West Northwest (NWNW)
Neighborhood Activist
Newsletter is designed by NWNW staff, published in the monthly NW Examiner, and mailed to approximately 29,000 households each month.
How: Bureau articles should be no more than 150 words. NWNW newsletter staff reserves the right to edit the article. Deadlines: Monday before the 1st Saturday of the month

Please Note: Neighborhood articles are given priority. There is rarely room for articles from city bureaus
Activist E-News
Reaches approximately 125 residents via email that have selected to receive email notices.
How: Include stories no more than 150 words. NWNW staff reserves the right to edit or not include the story. Some space available for some bureau programs relevant to NWNW neighbors. If full stories are not included, some space is available to include links to stories on bureau websites.

Old Town Chinatown Crier
Quarterly newsletter produced by Old Town Chinatown volunteers.

Neighbors West-Northwest and several member neighborhood associations have Yahoo! discussion groups. To post email announcements to the NWNW, Arlington Heights, Goose Hollow, Northwest District, or Sylvan Highlands discussion groups, send an email to angela@nwnw.org. Please specify which list.

Neighbors West-Northwest may be willing to post stories of significant effect on our community to the "breaking news" section of our website at www.nwnw.org.

SW Neighborhood News
When: Published and distributed monthly to over 10,500 households in our coalition area.
How: Submit article up to 600 words containing essential information and the relevance of this topic to our NA's and interested partners. Please include full contact information for contact person and a web link on how to get more information.
Include a picture or graphic (high resolution .jpg or .pdf) when possible. We also offer ad space, any size from 2"x 3"- to full page - or 4 page pull-out). Advertising can rates can be found on our website at http://swni.org and click on SWNI Newspaper. Submitting an article and placing an ad in another part of the paper has been very successful in reaching more readers in the past.
The deadline for ads to block space is the 10th of the month.
News deadline is the 15th of the month unless the 15th is on a weekend, then it is the Friday before.
