ONI's Graffiti Abatement Program works with concerned neighbors and business-owners to identify, report and remove graffiti from public and private spaces.

5th Annual Neighborhood-Business Area Collaborative Graffiti Cleanups

The City of Portland Graffiti Abatement program will sponsor seven (7) Saturday morning graffiti cleanups between April and October, 2010.  Thanks to the many enthusiastic volunteers all clean up dates are filled except we could still use volunteers for the October event!


Information for Businesses that may sell Graffiti Materials

 

If you sell any of these "Graffiti Materials", you are subject to new rules on storage and sale of these products:

  • Spray Paint

  • Paint Pens (tip of 1/4 inch or greater with agitator)

  • Spray paint tips/nozzles

  • Glass Cutting Tool

  • Glass Etching Tools (acid etch)

Graffiti Task Force

Portland’s Graffiti Task Force meets every month on the 3rd Thursday. Membership is made up of all public agencies involved in graffiti vandalism abatement and includes law enforcement representatives and district attorneys.Meetings are from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Interested parties are invited to call 503-823-5860 for more information and the meeting location.

Other graffiti prevention activities include:

  • Adopt a block or bus stop and remove graffiti from newspaper boxes, wooden utility poles, mailboxes and phone booths on a regular basis. Never remove graffiti from the front of traffic signs, report it to graffiti abatement so that it can be referred to Sign Maintenance for cleanup.
  • Schedule a graffiti removal presentation at your neighborhood or business meeting - Call 503-823-5860.
  • Participate in Graffiti Removal Days or organize a Neighborhood Clean-up Day. If your neighborhood provides the volunteers, Graffiti Removal Program will provide the paint, cleaning supplies, training and supervision.
