The City of Portland and the Associated Students of Portland Community College are excited to announce that applications for grant money are now available for youth to create a project and improve their communities!

We are writing at the request of Mayor Charlie Hales, who would like to invite you to participate in the upcoming City Budget Forums. He is particularly interested in hearing your insights into how the FY 2013-14 budget will impact underrepresented communities. In addition, he also asks that if you have ideas of what you like added to the budget, then you also find areas to cut the budget.

Opportunity for neighborhood, community, environmental organizations to be part of Portland's World Environment Day celebration by scheduling events in the six weeks between Earth Day on April 22nd and World Environment Day on June 5th.

In February 2013, the United Nations Environment Programme Regional Office of North America selected Portland to host this year’s World Environment Day (WED) on June 5th, 2013.

The Multnomah County Citizen Involvement Committee (CIC) created the Sy Award in 2007 to honor former member Sy Kornbrodt, who’s passion to empower and get things done on behalf of underserved and underrepresented citizens in Multnomah County is legendary. The application only has one ?—briefly describe how the nominee has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to justice, equality, and obtaining access to the halls of power for all county residents.

This is your final reminder that the Eastside Greenway Trail will be closed between Caruthers Street and the OMSI submarine dock for 14 months beginning May 1, 2013 while crews work on trail reconstruction and the landside piers and abutment for the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Bridge.

The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street improvements will require lane closures on NE Halsey St. between NE 84th Ave. and NE 92nd Ave. beginning Friday, May 10 through Friday, May 24 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.

The Multnomah County Citizen Involvement Committee (CIC) is seeking nominees for the 2013 Sy Award. It's given in honor of Sy Kornbrodt whose passion and voice on behalf of underserved and underrepresented citizens in Multnomah County inspired the CIC to create the award.

There will be a permanent left turn bike box installed at the NE corner of SE Water Avenue and SE Clay Street. There will be a bike detection system incorporated into the traffic signal at this location as well.
