Community Neighborhood Involvement Center
Through our programs you can get involved in your neighborhood, access information, build community, support diversity and accessibility, organize a block party, clean up your neighborhood, sharpen your leadership skills, impact city policy and more!
Crime Prevention
Crime Prevention organizes and supports community partnerships to prevent crime and the fear of crime.
Disability Program
Connects, supports and encourages collaborative civic engagement between the people of the disability community, neighborhoods and city government.
Diversity and Civic Leadership Program
Capacity building program for underrepresented community-based organizations in order to increase constituent participation in the civic governance of the City.
Graffiti Abatement Program
Improves neighborhood livability by decreasing graffiti, in partnership with the Police Bureau, neighborhood and business associations, youth programs, and other community partners.
Liquor License Notification
ONI works collaboratively with state and city agencies, Neighborhood Associations, and community members to help ensure that licensed establishments do not unreasonably impact the community in a negative manner.
Neighborhood Mediation Program
The City contracts with Resolutions Northwest to provide neighborhood mediation and community facilitation services to help Portland neighbors have productive conversations and work out peaceful solutions to everyday conflicts.
Neighborhood Program
Supports Portland's 95 Neighborhood Associations and 7 District Coalitions by providing organizing support, leadership development, and technical assistance to community volunteers.
Public Involvement Best Practices Program
Builds support of public involvement processes citywide that are more accessible to the community


Office of Neighborhood Involvement Programs and Services


ONI coordinates its services through four centers funded through a combination of city general funds, other city bureau and governmental partnerships.  All are staffed by professionals trained in aspects of public involvement.

 

Neighborhood Resource Center

Crime Prevention Center

  • Crime Prevention - Providing neighborhood-based crime problem-solving services.

Neighborhood Livability Services

Services and programs that provide a range of problem solving tools, resources, and technical assistance to achieve a positive impact on livability and nuisance issues in the community. Programs include:

  • Graffiti Abatement- Works to decrease graffiti in Portland through improved education, prevention and coordination of removal efforts in collaboration with Portland Police Bureau and other community partners.
  • Liquor License Notification- Provides notification to and opportunity for input from neighbors, businesses and community groups on liquor license applications, renewals, and nuisance activities arising from liquor licensed establishments.

  • Neighborhood Mediation - Provides dispute resolution information, mediation training and meeting facilitation services to the community.

Information and Referral Center
