Make Connections through Gardens & Learning: Host a FREE Workshop!

Want to generate neighborhood interest? Curious about landscaping options that are good for people, water & wildlife? Hosting a workshop may be for you! Our FREE Naturescaping & Rain Garden Workshops are held throughout North, Northeast, and Southeast Portland and are taught by experienced landscape professionals.

They highlight sustainable gardening practices that reduce pollution, conserve water, and make your yard a healthy place for people, pets and wildlife. They are hosted by individuals, neighborhood associations, businesses and other community groups. For some, hosting is simply a way to connect with neighbors; for many it is a creative & engaging way to promote the mission of their organization and to boost community involvement. We are looking to form new partnerships so we can offer even more free workshops. That’s where we hope you come into the picture…

The first step in bringing our workshops to your community is simply to let us know you are interested. We manage scheduling, registrations, and promotion; providing professional presenters, workshop fliers, and participant workbooks. You reserve a workshop location (at no cost to EMSWCD) that seats 20-40 people at tables, help get the word out, provide light refreshments and assist with day of workshop needs. By hosting a workshop you help people learn how to create healthy, vibrant landscapes & rain gardens that will reduce pollution, conserve water, and support wildlife habitat – all for free.
