Parking is free at the meters on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises visitors to Downtown Portland, the Lloyd District and Marquam Hill for the upcoming holiday weekends that on-street parking will be free at the meters on Christmas Day, which is Tuesday, December 25, and on New Year’s Day, which is Tuesday, January 1. Regular parking rates will apply all other days.

Visitors who drive to Downtown Portland are encouraged to use the City’s SmartPark garages. All SmartPark garages will close at 8 p.m. on Monday, December 24, for Christmas Day and will re-open at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26, except the O’Bryant Square garage and the Naito and Davis garage, which will both open at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

All SmartPark garages will be open regular hours for New Year’s Day.

The six City of Portland SmartPark parking garages include nearly 4,000 public parking spaces and serve shoppers, business clients and visitors to Downtown Portland. Contact Central Parking at (503) 790-9302 for questions related to SmartPark garage operating hours or visit www.portlandoregon.gov/smartpark.
