Miriam Green is a program manager for the Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division and has spent the majority of her career devoted to our community’s most vulnerable population. Miriam currently oversees the Child Abuse Program, which includes screening abuse calls for Multnomah County, as well as after hours calls from Clackamas and Washington Counties.

Miriam also leads the newly created DHS Human Trafficking Response Unit, a burgeoning need in the city. This latest assignment speaks to Miriam’s deep knowledge and understanding of the complex child welfare system. Her many years of service and staunch commitment to children’s safety make her a trusted voice on child welfare issues. In a challenging field that can take an emotional toll, Miriam has been an ever-present champion for children.  She is one of many unsung heroes working against child abuse, someone who works behind the scenes to make life better for Portland’s children.
