Since May 2004, Dr. Preston Pulliams has been president of the Portland Community College District, the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, enrolling over 93,000 each year. He has served on the boards of several nonprofit, business, and educational associations, as well as the Oregon Board of Higher Education.

Dr. Pulliams is passionate about increasing access to education. Through his leadership, the college passed a $374 million capital bond measure in 2008, the largest educational bond measure in Oregon’s history. His commitment to fundraising has enabled the PCC Foundation to more than triple annual scholarship awards. In partnership with the City of Portland, he helped launch the Future Connect Scholarship Program, which supports 200 “at risk” high school graduates each year in Multnomah County. And he worked with the Portland School District to reinvent Jefferson High as a Middle College where every student is slated to earn at least 12 college credits before graduating.
