Bradley Angle was founded in 1975 as the first domestic violence shelter on the West Coast. Today, they offer a continuum of services for survivors of domestic violence, including emergency shelter, transitional housing, support groups, youth services, and community based programs that promote self-sufficiency.
As an agency they are committed to innovation, enriching our community, and cross-cultural effectiveness. Bradley Angle was the first Portland agency to focus on African American and African immigrant survivors with their Healing Roots Program, and they remain the only provider in the state offering LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) domestic violence services.
They have been on the national forefront of developing economic empowerment programs that help survivors achieve self-sufficiency, and have brought expertise on these issues to social service agencies across the state. Their vision says it all— they’re devoted to creating communities where everyone has the right to safe, equitable, healthy relationships.
