Kathy has been serving our community as an outstanding volunteer for over 25 years. For the last eight years, she has served as the chairwoman for the Cully Association of Neighbors, re-energizing the organization and increasing the average attendance by 450%, creating partnerships with local businesses and organizations, and advocating for major improvements in public land use in the Cully neighborhood.

Some successful projects that Kathy has worked directly on include the Cully neighborhood cleanups where over 55 tons of yard debris and bulky waste were collected; the Cuisine in Cully – an event where Cully restaurants donated samples of their food for neighbors to enjoy and connect with each other; the Cully Boulevard Green Street Project – a project in which Kathy was instrumental in advocating for $5.2 million in funding to create a beautiful new street with sidewalks, cycle track, traffic signals and lights; and the Thomas Cully Park Master Plan – in which she secured $90,000 in funding for the park.

Kathy is also the Vice President of the Central NE Neighbors Coalition board and a member of the Neighborhood Advisory Committee for the Columbia Biogas Facility.
