TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Lane closures on Southeast Washington Street on September 11-20
PORTLAND,Ore. – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that lane closures will be necessary onSoutheast Washington Street betweenSoutheast 82nd Avenue andSoutheast 90th Avenue beginning Tuesday, September 11, through Thursday, September 20, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each week day. The closures are necessary to remove the existing pavement and repave the street.
Southeast Washington Street, which is a one-way street heading eastbound, will be reduced to one lane during construction hours. The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible. Local access to residences and businesses will be provided.
The work is a two-inch grind and pave street maintenance project. The top two inches of the road will be ground down and replaced. A tack coat of emulsified asphalt and water will be applied to the street surface to help the new asphalt adhere to the existing layer. A paving machine will lay a level and smooth layer of asphalt two inches thick.
This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
