Partnership opportunities
|
Community organization partners are needed to host volunteer projects for Earth Day (mid April) and/or Viking Days (late September).
|
|
Sample project tasks
|
Community asset mapping; park cleanups; painting; recording oral histories (generally projects that can be completed by a group of volunteers within 2-4 hours)
|
|
What will SLS provide?
|
Upon committing to partner with your organization for one of these service days, SLS will:
- Assist you with project planning tasks
- Recruit PSU volunteers for the project
- Share project information with PSU volunteers prior to their arrival at your site
- Day of event - assist PSU volunteers with transportation as needed
- Day of event - provide PSU volunteer with a boxed lunch
- Day of event – facilitate reflection activities

What’s required of partners?
|
- Pre-project planning time with volunteer leaders
- All tools & materials necessary to complete the project successfully
- Day of event - orientation to your agency, neighborhood and/or cause
- Day of event - training for the tasks to be completed
- Davy of event – project management (student leader will assist with this)
- Day of event - presentation of future service opportunities

|
Earth Day – contact prior to March 1 - event on Saturday adjacent to 4/22
Viking Days – contact prior to August 1 - event in mid-to-late September
