Partnership opportunities

Community organization partners are needed to host volunteer projects for Earth Day (mid April) and/or Viking Days (late September).

 

Sample project tasks

Community asset mapping; park cleanups; painting; recording oral histories (generally projects that can be completed by a group of volunteers within 2-4 hours)

 

What will SLS provide?

Upon committing to partner with your organization for one of these service days, SLS will:

  • Assist you with project planning tasks
  • Recruit PSU volunteers for the project
  • Share project information with PSU volunteers prior to their arrival at your site
  • Day of event - assist PSU volunteers with transportation as needed
  • Day of event - provide PSU volunteer with a boxed lunch
  • Day of event – facilitate reflection activities

 

What’s required of partners?

  • Pre-project planning time with volunteer leaders
  • All tools & materials necessary to complete the project successfully
  • Day of event - orientation to your agency, neighborhood and/or cause
  • Day of event - training for the tasks to be completed
  • Davy of event – project management (student leader will assist with this)
  • Day of event - presentation of future service opportunities

Earth Day – contact prior to March 1 - event on Saturday adjacent to 4/22

Viking Days – contact prior to August 1 - event in mid-to-late September
