Office of Neighborhood Involvement Programs and Services


ONI coordinates its services through four centers funded through a combination of city general funds, other city bureau and governmental partnerships.  All are staffed by professionals trained in aspects of public involvement.

 

Neighborhood Resource Center

Crime Prevention Center

  • Crime Prevention - Providing neighborhood-based crime problem-solving services.

Neighborhood Livability Services

Services and programs that provide a range of problem solving tools, resources, and technical assistance to achieve a positive impact on livability and nuisance issues in the community. Programs include:

  • Community Residential Siting- Provides a centralized, coordinated source of information and referral before, during, and after the siting of a community residential facility to eliminate confusion and potential conflict.

  • Graffiti Abatement- Works to decrease graffiti in Portland through improved education, prevention and coordination of removal efforts in collaboration with Portland Police Bureau and other community partners.

  • Liquor License Notification- Provides notification to and opportunity for input from neighbors, businesses and community groups on liquor license applications, renewals, and nuisance activities arising from liquor licensed establishments.

  • Neighborhood Mediation - Provides dispute resolution information, mediation training and meeting facilitation services to the community.
