Changes to the Business License Law

At the August 13, 2008 Portland City Council meeting (9:30 AM Time Certain), an ordinance was introduced to replace Portland City Code Chapter 7.02 "Business License Law" and create Portland City Code Chapter 7.03 "Temporary Businesses". This ordinance makes housekeeping changes to the Business License Law (Chapter 7.02), establishes a new chapter for Temporary Business Licenses (Chapter 7.03) and changes the current business license to a true after-the-fact tax in the initial and final years of business operations.
