In January of 2004 the City evaluated the opportunity for increased efficiency and potential savings by consolidating the revenue and collection operations from various bureaus into a new Revenue Bureau.
On September 7, 2005, the Portland City Council adopted Ordinance No. 179566 establishing the Revenue Bureau in the Office of Management & Finance (effective October 1, 2005.) The transition of business programs and operational units from their present locations to a consolidated Revenue Bureau scheduled for completion by July 2006 is now complete.
