The Willamette--Know Your River

There's been a lot of thought (and action) devoted to improving the River over the last few decades. So, if you want a little more to go on, here's a list of just a few other information resources.  (You're also invited to poke around the rest of this Rivers Office website, as well...).


A detailed assessment of river conditions, with policy and action recommendations.

The Portland Plan will be the City's road map for the next 25 years, guiding our direction as the city grows and changes.

The River Plan is a comprehensive multi-objective plan for the land along the Willamette River. It is an update of the Willamette Greenway Plan, zoning code and design guidelines.

An update to the 1988 Central City Plan, which is the existing plan and policy for downtown and central areas of Portland, Oregon.

A wide-ranging array of ideas and recommendations to create an enhanced river environment for Portlanders.

This 2002 master plan from the Parks Bureau offers a visionary, but within-reach, take on how Portland's signature park can better connect people to the river.

This July 2010 document is one of a series of reports on the Central City. This volume (see pages 25-36) includes a central theme of "Reclaim the River."
