Have a boat? Your views on invasive species wanted!

The Oregon Invasive Species Council announces...

"OREGON RESEARCHERS ASK BOATERS TO TAKE A SHORT SURVEY

"Do you own a motorized boat, sailboat, raft, kayak, canoe or paddle board?  If so, please take a few minutes to complete a survey to share your ideas about boating and aquatic invasive species.  The survey is available at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/AISboater through Sept. 5, 2012.

"This survey is part of a research project entitled “Regulatory and Outreach Strategies for Aquatic invasive Species” that is being led by Oregon Sea Grant, Oregon State Marine Board, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Oregon Invasive Species Council.

"Aquatic invasive plants and animals negatively impact water resources that boaters use.  The goal of the survey is to obtain boater input on invasive species issues, laws, actions to take, and ideas to improve invasive species prevention. It only should take 5-10 minutes to complete.

"If you have any questions, or if you would like a paper copy of the survey, contact Dr. Sam Chan at samuel.chan@oregonstate.edu. The National SeaGrant Law Center and the Oregon State Marine Board funded this research."
