The Sternwheeler PORTLAND steams-up for July 13 cruise

 

The last steam-powered sternwheel tugboat built and operated in the United States will be cruising soon for the first time in four years. The Oregon Maritime Museum’s fully restored steam sternwheeler PORTLAND, usually moored at the Willamette River in downtown Portland’s Waterfront Park, will carry passengers from downtown Portland to St. Helens,  leading a flotilla of over 40 classic boats July 13, 2012 to the Maritime Heritage Festival. Passengers are also invited on board for the return trip to Portland, OR July 15, 2012. Click here for more information.
