Honoring Our River--Student Showcase at Powell's

Honoring Our Rivers will celebrate its 3rd annual Student Showcase at Powell’s City of Books in downtown Portland this Sunday. The honorary event will feature student readings and selected student artwork from the recently released 2012 edition of the Honoring Our Rivers anthology.  

 

Once again, Powell's City of Books has graciously offered to host this special event on Sunday, May 6th at 4 p.m. in the Pearl Room of their flagship store located on 1005 W Burnside in Portland.  Students from across the state whose work was published in this year’s anthology will present their work alongside invited authors Rosanne Parry, Richard Mack, Anne Osterlund and Inara Scott. 

 

Please join us to honor and celebrate the artistic and literary efforts of Oregon students!

The 2012 Anthology features close to 200 original poems, essays, photography and artwork selected from more than 600 Oregon students — the largest submission pool to date! Contributions from students in Russia are also included in the Anthology, as well as submissions by well-known adult authors and artists such as Ursula Le Guin, Barry Lopez, Barbara Herkert and Oregon’s Poet Laureate, Paulann Petersen.
