Notification

 In an effort to maintain the film-friendly atmosphere filmmakers enjoy in Portland, the following notification procedures were adopted.

 Please read all instructions prior to downloading required notification form:

Our notification requirements are different depending upon the circumstances of the shoot:

For small, one day shoots: after "Notification of Filming" form linked below is approved by film office, please distribute it at least 48 hours in advance to all residents and businesses on the block where you will film and/or stage.  This includes any prep work that requires more than one large equipment vehicle parked on the street.

Please distribute approved forms linked below at least 72 hours in advance to all residents and businesses on the block as well as Neighborhood and Business Associations (see below) if you:

• will film in the same general location for more than one day

              —and/or—

• will occupy more than one block at a time

Please also notify residents and/or businesses along the same street on blocks immediately adjacent to your activity if you: 

• remove on-street parking
  • for more than 4 spaces in a business district
  • for more than one blockface in a residential neighborhood

                         —and/or—

• intermittently or fully close a street

Please first attempt to hand this form to people personally. Otherwise, leave it gently but firmly attached in an obvious spot (a rubber band on a door handle works well).
