Main Street Gate

The gate across SW Main at Broadway will be closed for Portland Center for Performing Arts events as follows:

  • Sunday, February 7:  Gate closed at 6:00pm until 10:30pm for performance events
  • Monday, February 8:  Gate closed at 6:30pm until 10:30pm for performance events
  • Tuesday, February 9:  Gate closed at 10:00am until 1:30pm ~AND~ at 6:30pm until 11:30pm for performance events
  • Wednesday, February 10:  Gate closed at 9:00am until 1:30pm ~AND~ at 6:00pm until 9:30pm for performance events
  • Thursday, February 11:  Gate closed at 9:00am until 9:00am ~AND~ at 1:30pm until 10:30pm for performance events
  • Friday, February 12:  Gate closed at 9:00am until 1:30pm ~AND~ at 6:30pm until 10:30pm for performance events
  • Saturday, February 13:  Gate closed at 6:00pm until 10:30pm for performance events
  • Sunday, February 14:  Gate closed at 12:30pm until 4:30pm for performance events

 

Major Long Term Projects

The following projects are listed by avenues first, east to west, and streets next, north to south.  These projects are permitted long term use of the street and sidewalk to facilitate construction on private property

  • NW Lovejoy, 14, 15, Northrup: 3/4 city block construciton project underway. Parking and sidewalks are closed around the block all hours. Intermittent street closures on NW 15th between Lovejoy and Marshall  are permitted between 7am to 4pm for construction operations as needed.  Projected completion is Spring of 2010; contact is Andrew Pierson of Yorke and Curtis at 971.404.4829.
  • NW Hoyt, 6th to Broadway: 1/2 block construction project underway.  Parking and sidewalk closed on Hoyt and on Broadway.  There is a shared bike and pedestrian protected area maintained at all times on Broadway.  Intermittent street closure on Hoyt Street is permitted for the duration of the project during daytime hours.  Contact is Chuck Moore of Walsh Construction at 503.306.2716; projected completion is Spring 2011.
  • SW Main, Madison, 1st and 2nd: full city block under construction for 17 level office tower.  Sidewalks are closed on all four streets, parking is removed on 1st and 2nd, one lane closure is permitted on the east side of 2nd from 7am to 4pm and the west side of 1st from 9am to 4pm.  Intermittent lane closures are permitted on Main from 9am to 4pm and on Madison from 7am to 4pm.  The general contractor is Hoffman Construction; contact is Mark Parsons at 503.221.8811; projected completion is February 2010.
  • SW Clay, 13th to 12th and SW 13th Clay to Market: 1/4 city block under construction for 5 story Housing Authority building.  The parking spaces and sidewalks on Clay and on 13th adjacent to the site are closed.  An intermittent lane closure is permitted on 13th from 7am to 4pm.  The general contractor is R&H Construction; contact is Craig O'Conner at 503.228.7177; projected completion is March 2010

 

Utility Work, Crane Lifts, and other Closures

The following streets (listed by avenues first, from east to west, and streets next, from north to south) are expected to have impacts from private construction, utility work, crane lifts or special events

  

  • NW Broadway and Glisan: through February 12, 8:30am to 3:30pm the right hand, south bound lane is closed on Broadway and the right lane is closed on Glisan for underground utility installation for PGE
  • SW Broadway, Market to Mill: February 20, 5am to 7pm, the right two lanes, sidewalk and bus stop are closed for a crane lift for PSU.  This closure will close lanes in advance starting at Columbia for easy transition left to one lane.  
  • SW 9th, Yamhill to Taylor: through early February, complete street closure all hours for construction of the Director Park streetscape
  • SW Salmon, 5th to4th: through February 28, south sidewalk closed all hours for repair at the county courthouse.
  • SW Market, Park to Broadway: through February 20, south sidewalk closed all hours and lane closed from 8am to 4pm for work on PSU project

 

Bridges

  • Morrison Bridge project opening delayed until early March; ramp from Naito remains closed
    Construction of a new path for bicyclists and pedestrians across the Morrison Bridge has encountered additional delays and is now estimated to be completed by around early March, 2010. A new shared, 15-foot wide path is being added on the south side of the bridge.  During construction, the bridge's six traffic lanes have been narrowed and the far right eastbound lane is closed. The on-ramp to the bridge from SW Naito Parkway will remain closed until the project completion.  The right eastbound lane on the bridge on-ramp from SW Alder is also closed.  During construction, the south sidewalk on the bridge is closed; the north sidewalk remains open.  The $1.9 million project includes funds from the Federal Highway Administration and Multnomah County. The City of Portland contributed funds to the project's design, along with the county and federal government.

 

Special events  (more information click here)

  • NW Davis, 3rd to 4th: February 13 9am-4pm full street closure for a community event hosted by Consolidated Benevolent Association.
