INTERNSHIPS WITH THE CITY OF PORTLAND
 
Internships at the City of Portland are handled through individual bureaus or offices.  Below is a list of some bureaus and elected officials who may have internships available.  Click any of the bureaus below to find contact information, internship descriptions and how to apply.  Internships may be paid, volunteer or eligible for college credit.
 

Bureau of Transportation Responsible for operating and managing the City's transportation, parking and street lighting systems.

City Attorney's Office Helps the City achieve its policy goals in the public interest by providing excellent, objective, timely, and economical legal advice and advocacy.

Environmental Services, Bureau of Environmental Services is Portland's Clean River agency. We treat Portland's wastewater, provide stormwater drainage services, and we work in Portland watersheds to reduce stormwater pollution, restore native vegetation, and improve the quality of water.

Fire, Rescue & Emergency Services Aggressively and safely protects life, property and the environment by providing excellence in emergency services, training and prevention.

Management & Finance, Office of Responsible for supporting the administrative & operations needs of the City to enhance quality service delivery to the public. Internships available in multiple departments.

Parks & Recreation Ensures access to leisure opportunities and enhances Portland's natural beauty. PP&R owns and manages over 10,000 acres of parkland and is the region's largest provider of parks and recreation.

Police Bureau A first-rate law enforcement organization, where solid values are deeply imbedded into every member; and where members work with the latest technology and facilities.

Water Bureau From forest to faucet, the Portland Water Bureau delivers the best water in the world.
