City of PortlandRecognizes 11 Sustainable Companies with BEST Awards

Portland, Ore.—Eleven local Portland companies and organizations left the 14th Annual BEST Awards Breakfast with this year’s top honors from the City’s Office of Sustainable Development. The BEST Awards recognize businesses demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to sustainability. “Portland businesses have always been leaders in showing how business can be done differently, and profitably—how you can have a successful business, create jobs, contribute to the local economy and protect the planet,” said Mayor Tom Potter.

“The point of the BEST Awards is to honor businesses that are redefining economic opportunity and successfully incorporating sustainable business practices into their bottom line,” added Commissioner Dan Saltzman. “Regardless of who goes home today with an award, it is clear that all these companies and organizations are making significant contributions to a healthy, prosperous future for our region.”
