City Hall and Portland Building Remain Closed Tuesday, Dec. 10
Despite best efforts, Portland General Electric does not anticipate restoring power to affected buildings in the downtown core until sometime on Tuesday. Due to the continued power outage, City Hall and the Portland Building will remain closed on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Community members should not plan on conducting business in City Hall or the Portland Building on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Other City buildings are open and functioning as normal.
City employees who normally work in City Hall, Portland Building, and Pioneer Tower should not report to work on Tuesday, Dec. 10. All other City employees should report to work as normal.
We expect power to be restored, the buildings to be open, and the City Council meeting to occur as scheduled on Wednesday, Dec. 11. However, community members conducting business and city employees working in these building should check the City’s main webpage, www.portlandoregon.gov, or call the City/County Information and Referral number, 503-823-4000, for updates before coming to the buildings or reporting to work.
Additionally, Inclement Weather
The current weather forecast indicates possible snow and freezing rain for Monday evening into Tuesday. As of now, it is expected that all City offices, other than City Hall, the Portland Building, and offices in Pioneer Tower, will be open during their normal business hours.
For employees in buildings OTHER than City Hall, the Portland Building, and Pioneer Tower:
Any employee who cannot safely report to work on time must notify their supervisor. The absence will be excused, and missed time will be charged to accrued leave.
For employees in the closed buildings – City Hall, the Portland Building, Pioneer Tower:
Do not report to work on Tuesday.
