Multnomah County Circuit Court Remote Access for Restraining
Orders
Video Conferencing for Restraining Orders will start October 2010.
Currently at this time, The Gateway Center Navigators can help
participants fill out restraining order applications and help answer
questions they may have regarding safety issues and concerns.
Although The Gateway Center's videoconferencing is not up and
running yet, Navigators can also give information about how the
Courthouse works, determine if a restraining order is the safest
route, create a catered safety plan and help see if other services may be needed at the current time.
Please call 503.988.6400 for more information or you may walk-in anytime between Monday and Friday,
9 AM to 4 PM to speak with a Navigator. A Navigator will always be here to speak with you, between this
time.
The Gateway Center's Videoconferencing equipment was generously provided by a grant from the Mount
Hood Cable Regulatory Commission. You may follow them on their website at: http://www.mhcrc.org/
Without their grant, it wouldn't be possible to have the technology they have given The Gateway Center
to save a participant's time from commuting from The Gateway Center to the downtown Multnomah
County Courthouse and especially providing a safe and no-intimidating place for a participant to access
the legal system.
