The Gateway Center for Domestic Violence Services Mission, Vision and Core Values

Mission

The Gateway Center serves domestic violence survivors and their children in a welcoming place with a variety of culturally sensitive and trauma-informed services, designed to provide comprehensive solutions that meet their needs.

Vision

The Gateway Center strives prevent and reduce intimate partner violence and its subsequent trauma by providing highly trained, survivor-centered advocacy to every person who seeks our services and meets our service criteria. We prioritize survivors' safety, promote survivors' rights and support survivors' desires to be free from violence and abuse.

Core Values

  • The Gateway Center believes all domestic violence victims and survivors, including children, have the right to live free from violence and abuse.
  • The Gateway Center diligently ensures that our services meet the highest standards of suvivor-centered and trauma-informed advocacy. Public safety and health systems' efforts must not re-victimize survivors in their attempts to promote themselves and their families.
  • The Gateway Center promotes victim autonomy. We respect and support survivors' choices and actions without judgment and without exception.
  • The Gateway Center values and maintains quality relationships with its partners both within the Center and among the larger service community. Our collaborative work environment supports diversity, honors our partners' unique gifts and contributions, actively engages our partners in decision-making, and manages conflict productively.
