Mayor Sam Adams' Education Director, Kali Thorne Ladd, gave an insightful interview to The Skanner recently.  I've been a staunch supporter of the Mayor's initiatives and funding to support K-12 and college education.  Portland taxpayers' investments are paying off, with 7% higher graduation rate last year.

I attended the Franklin High School graduation this evening, to cheer for Serena Montehermoso who interned in my office two summers ago.  Congratulations to all Portland high school graduates, and their families and educators.
