Street Roots is a wonderful Portland community non-profit led by Director Israel Bayer, that engages people experiencing homelessness in creating and selling a bi-weekly newspaper sold by vendors who keep part of the profits.  I appreciate the fine standards of journalism in the newspaper under Managing Editor Joanne Zuhl, as well as the work ethic demonstrated by vendors who sell outside, rain or shine.
