There is no pre-screening necessary for admittance to the Warming Center. Families show up at 7pm for admittance at the site. The Warming Center is located at 1435 NE 81st,Portland, Oregon, just off the MAX Line (cross street is Halsey and 82nd Avenue).
Starting November 1, 2009, the Warming Center will stay open every night from 7pm to 7am through March 2010. The purpose of this center is to provide a safe and healthier alternative to parents with children who would have otherwise had to sleep in the cold, rainy, and sometimes snowy outdoors.
