Week of 8/25/09 - 8/30/09
I was out of town on Monday, on vacation with my daughter. My calendar for the rest of the week:
* Interview with Mark Larabee, The Oregonian
* Attended Downtown Security Network meeting - security staff from downtown private agencies, Portland Police, TriMet, the District Attorney's office, etc. They meet monthly to discuss issues and coordinate services.
* Monthly meeting with Mayor Adams, discussing current issues including next steps on sharing sidewalks downtown; also discussion with the Mayor and Government Relations staff regarding the process for choosing the City's 2010 legislative priorities
* Monthly meeting with Commissioner Saltzman, reviewed Office of Healthy Working Rivers issues, also Sellwood Pump Station
* Monthly meeting with David Olson, Cable Communications and Franchise Management
* City Council meeting Wednesday morning, ran way into the afternoon despite my best efforts presiding after the Mayor left at 11 a.m.
* Thursday, I was out of the office taking my daughter back to college
* Meeting with Commissioner Fish, discussed Council process
* Meeting with Mr. Cheng-yi Lee, visiting dignitary from Taiwan
* Attended Labor Management Benefits Committee meeting
* Meeting with Linda Robinson, Arlene Kimura, and Margot Barnett, regarding Citywide Parks Team leadership and director
* Attended Muslim Educational Trust fundraiser
* Attended Portland Women's Crisis Line fundraiser
* Volunteered at Community Care Day, weeding at Markham Elementary
* Community Care Day BBQ at Jefferson High School
* Gunderson Marine barge launch
* Hawthorne Youth Hostel mural unveiling celebration
* Mural unveiling at the corner of NE 7th and Hancock just off Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
