Portland Monthly has published an article covering the "Offkey" event that raised $23,000 for the YWCA in June, here.  Dan Anderson of Mayor Adams's staff was one of the organizers of this karaoke contest, where I had the pleasure of being a judge.  I think I was at least a decade older than 99% of the 300+ people who attended - and even so, I had a lot of fun.
