We are excited for the opening of a new community orchard in North Portland!
Portland Fruit Tree Project and Village Gardens will break ground on this new community space on April 6th. Community members will come together to plant trees, berry bushes, and native plants, as well as mulch the area. This is a great opportunity to learn a bit more about planting fruit trees as well as work to strengthen our North Portland community.
Portland Fruit Tree Project is a grass-roots non-profit organization that implements a community-based strategy to increase Portlanders' access to healthy food. This group empowers neighbors to share in the harvest and care of urban fruit trees.
Refreshments and light snacks will be provided for participants.
