Grand opening of Kah San Chako Haws! - February 14, 2013

Nick was proud to join the Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA) and community partners at the grand opening of Kah San Chako Haws yesterday afternoon.

Kah San Chako Haws, “East House” in Chinook, brings Portland its first modular affordable homes. The Portland Housing Bureau was proud to support the project with a $1,221,147 investment.

Kah San Chako Haws, in the Lents neighborhood, brings high-quality, affordable choices to families – many of whom are Native American – of modest means.

While most new affordable housing developments take anywhere from 18 to 24 months to build, Kah San Chako Haws was completed in just over a year. It is an innovative, sustainable building – achieving LEED Gold certification – and is supported by Section 8 vouchers provided by Home Forward.

Congratulations to the team that brought this vision to life, and to the families who now call Kah San Chako Haws home.
